An Adventurous New Children's Book: Super Smelly Socks
Wildomar, CA (PRWEB) July 8, 2007 -- Johnny Coogan tries to improve the quality of children's reading with the publication of Super Smelly Socks in conjunction with Lulu (www.lulu.com), the world's fastest-growing provider of print-on-demand books.
Although Johnny has written two mainstream books, Deceived and his recent and controversial new book, Lost in Yugoslavia: Today's Peacekeeping Soldier (www.bbotw.com), he found that his children had problems finding quality chapter books to read that not only taught a lesson but were also fun to read.
Super Smelly Socks is about a menacing character named Evil Erin lives in a mystical world outside the realm of earth and tries to recruit earthlings to help him take over his world. Young children are his target because they are easily convinced of his lies. Once in this mystical world, children cannot get out unless they have the help of a baby-like being named Super Smelly Socks. This is a nice chapter book for kids who are looking for a fun read. The alliteration is thick and the characters are fun and lifelike.
"Independent publishing and print-on-demand is the wave of the future, and the future is now," said Johnny Coogan. "The Lulu process allows me to cut out the middle man (i.e. a separate publisher) and get my work out there the way I want it and at a better price for my readers (only $5 to download). My book is much like Lulu itself--it puts control of your destiny in your own hands."
