Swim Professor to Donate All Proceeds from His New Children's Book & DVD to the Fight against Childhood Drowning

(PRWEB) June 27, 2007 -- To prevent childhood drownings, "The Swim Professor" has written a new children's book and DVD that will help children understand appropriate behavior in and around the water. 100% of the proceeds will be donated to the Swim for Life Foundation and the Safer 3, the new standard in drowning prevention.

Why? Because there are hundreds of children dying every year. Because thousands of children are hospitalized every day. Because many of those that are hospitalized suffer from permanent brain damage and permanent loss of basic functioning. "Because something needs to be done," says Jim Reiser, better known as "The Swim Professor."

For far too many parents, it's just one of those things that won't ever happen to them. But it does and far too often. It's the unimaginable tragedy. It's the nightmare come true. And the worst part about it is -- childhood drownings are nearly always preventable. According to the National Drowning Prevention Alliance President-Elect Johnny Johnson, "Jim Reiser is a strong voice for the Safer 3 Drowning Prevention message and he is to be praised for his effort to bring the message not only to his swim school students but now through this book and video to the whole country."

Reiser, president and founder of Swim Lessons University, says drowning is the leading cause of accidental death in children ages 5 and under, and the 2nd leading cause of accidental death among children ages 6 to 14. "The only way this statistic will change is if we do something about it. I think parents and children sometimes suffer from information overload when it comes to water safety. Just look at any pool rules sign. The goal in our children's book & DVD is to focus on what's most important in terms of drowning prevention in a direct, but child-friendly approach."

Reiser's new children's book and DVD will not only help your child understand appropriate behavior in and around the pool -- but 100% of the proceeds will be donated to the Swim for Life Foundation and the Safer 3, the new standard in drowning prevention.

For a free Safer 3 brochure and children's activity sheet, go to www.swimlessonsuniversity.com or call 1-866-498-SWIM (7946). You can also purchase the book or video for just $9.00. Free video samples of the DVD and how Reiser recommends you use the book are also available on the Swim Lessons University website.

Knowing The Right Time To Toilet Train Your Toddler
Girls are usually easier than boys to toilet train. With all the boys and girls I have ever known, this has been the case. I don?t think there is any research that actually explains why this is the case. It is also reported that fewer girls wet the bed. Actually and this is absolute truth, my daughter just one day started sitting on the potty chair and potty training was over for the both of us. She continued to use that potty chair until she was able to use the bathroom.
